Spanish
At St Mary’s, we believe that learning a foreign language is an important part of being a citizen of a multi‑cultural society, where love, respect and friendship towards others and their way of life are of great importance. We aim to produce articulate and capable linguists who are beining to speak, write, read and listen to information in Spanish. We believe that developing understanding of another language, and the different cultures it is a part of, is crucial for children to flourish into well‑rounded individuals. To support pupils as they prepare for the transition to secondary school, we have also introduced French in the final term of Year 6, ensuring they experience a second language before making their choice for further study.
