At St Mary’s C of E Junior School we believe that Collective Worship affirms the school’s Christian foundation.
Collective Worship is central to the life of the school. It celebrates, encourages and develops our school Christian values of love, respect and friendship and supports and strengthens our pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
Provision is in accordance with the law of the land and the school’s Trust Deed and draws on guidance from the Church of England and the Diocese of St Albans.
Harvest Festival, 7th October 2020
Today we had our Harvest Festival. It wasn't quite the same as being in the hall together sharing songs, readings and prayers. However, Year 3 did a wonderful job of presenting our Harvest Festival from their Year 3 classrooms with everyone watching via TEAMS. We were able to see all the kind donations that had been brought in to school and listen to why we celebrate Harvest.
The newly appointed House Captains then helped to load up the Food Bank van that had come to collect our donations. We managed to fill the van with a huge range of goods that will be distributed to families and individuals in need of support.
Thank you all very much for the wonderful donations.
