Daily Challenge Tuesday 21st April

Your challenge today is to make a water lilly....

Wait there's more

This flower will open when put into water.  As is by magic!

See the picture below for all the equipment you need, plus a shallow dish or plate filled with no more than a cm of water.

Picture 1 Find 3 different sized things to draw around
Picture 2 Draw 3 daisy shape flowers
Picture 3 Make sure the petals go into the centre
Picture 4 Cut them out go right to the middle
Picture 5 Then fold the petals to the middle
Picture 6 Put them inside each other
Picture 1 Put your lilly in to the water...
Picture 2 and watch the magic happen
Picture 3

It works by capilliary action.  Just like real flowers the paper absorbs the water and pushes the petals flat, forcing them to open.

If you want to spend time on the decorating, which is important, the centre of the smallest flower is what you will see the most of, so that should have all the detail.

Take pictures or a video and send us your results.

Good luck and enjoy!
