Design & Technology Statement of Intent
At St Mary’s C of E Junior School children flourish by taking part in high-quality design and technology lessons. Through a variety of creative and practical activities, pupils are taught to analyse existing products, design to meet specifications and make a product using a range of tools in a range of relevant contexts. These including school, leisure and the wider environment. Pupils are given the opportunity to research and be creative in their designs, inventive in their approaches, selecting from a range of equipment used to perform practical tasks, before appraising their final product and looking at how key designs and individuals in design and technology have helped shape the world.
