Enjoying Our Learning Together

At St Mary’s we assess children in many ways. In very simple terms teachers will assess children on what they teach. This maybe through a series of tasks taught through day to day lessons in which lesson objectives, context or success criteria are linked to the new National Curriculum statements or through periodic tests taken through out the term. Please click on the ‘Assessment Policy’ tab below for a more detailed explanation.

To view all of the new national curriculum statements that have to be taught and assessed please go to;

2016 is the first year that children in Year 6 are assessed against the new National Curriculum statutory expectations rather than the previous level descriptions. Year 6 children will be given a final teacher assessment by 30 June 2016 and will sit the new tests during the week beginning 9 May 2016. Please go to the ‘Year 6’ and then ‘National Curriculum Test’ pages of this website via the left hand navigation bar for further information.
